Therapy for Substance Use, Trauma & Mental Health in Oregon

You're tired of feeling stuck in the same patterns, but you're not sure how to get out of them.

Maybe you wake up already overwhelmed by the day ahead. You're irritable with the people you care about, struggling to find motivation, or feeling like even the smallest things are too much to handle.

You might find yourself shutting down during difficult conversations, reacting more strongly than you intended, or feeling disconnected from yourself and the people around you. Things that used to bring you joy don't feel the same anymore, and you're tired of feeling like you're just going through the motions.

Maybe you're recognizing that the ways you've learned to cope, whether that's avoiding difficult emotions, withdrawing from others, or relying on alcohol or substances, aren't working anymore.

The frustrating part is that you can recognize these patterns, but you don't know how to change them.

Sometimes past experiences continue to shape how we feel, react, and connect with others in ways we don't even realize.

But just because you've been living with these patterns for a long time doesn't mean you have to keep living this way.

You don't have to have everything figured out before reaching out.

What Therapy With Me Looks Like

I know how difficult it can be to recognize that something needs to change while feeling unsure about how to actually make it happen.

Through my extensive experience working in inpatient dual diagnosis treatment, I've supported individuals navigating substance use, mental health challenges, and some of the most difficult moments of their lives. I've seen how overwhelming things can feel when the ways you've learned to cope are no longer working, but I've also seen what's possible when people begin getting the support they need.

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and focused on meeting you where you are. Whether you're ready to make significant changes or still figuring out what you want, I want therapy to be a place where you can talk openly about your experiences without judgment or pressure.

I work with adults navigating substance use, dual diagnosis, depression and other mood disorders, codependency, and trauma. Alongside traditional talk therapy, I offer Brainspotting, a specialized approach that can help you work through difficult experiences and emotions that may be hard to process through conversation alone.

Rather than focusing only on stopping certain behaviors or managing symptoms, I want to help you understand what's underneath them and develop healthier ways to move forward.

In our work together, we'll focus on things like:

  • Understanding your patterns: Exploring what leads you to certain behaviors, how you've learned to cope with difficult experiences, and why making changes can feel so challenging.

  • Finding healthier ways to cope: Developing practical tools to navigate stress, uncomfortable emotions, and difficult situations without relying on behaviors that leave you feeling worse afterward.

  • Processing trauma with Brainspotting: Sometimes difficult experiences continue to affect how you feel and react, even when you understand what happened. Brainspotting uses specific eye positions and focused awareness to support processing of trauma and emotional distress, particularly when talking about your experiences doesn't feel like enough.

  • Building healthier relationships: Recognizing patterns of codependency, learning to set boundaries, and finding ways to maintain meaningful relationships without losing yourself in the process.

  • Creating realistic, meaningful change: Identifying what matters to you, building on your strengths, and taking manageable steps toward the life you want, even when motivation comes and goes.

We won't approach therapy with a list of everything you need to fix about yourself. We'll work together to understand where you are, what you've been through, and what moving forward could look like for you.

Rebuilding a Life That Feels Worth Living

When you've been struggling for a long time, it can become difficult to imagine life feeling any different.

Maybe you've tried to make changes before and found yourself falling back into familiar patterns. Maybe you've lost confidence in yourself, damaged relationships, or started believing that things are always going to be this way.

Or maybe you're just beginning to recognize that the way you've been living isn't how you want to continue.

Through my work in inpatient dual diagnosis treatment, I've had the opportunity to support people during some of their lowest moments. One thing that experience has taught me is that where you are today doesn't have to determine where you end up.

Change isn't always straightforward. There may be setbacks, uncertainty, and moments when you question whether you're making progress. But those experiences don't erase the work you've done or mean that meaningful change isn't possible.

The goal isn't to become someone who never struggles, makes mistakes, or has difficult days.

It's being able to recognize when you're falling into old patterns and knowing how to respond differently. It's learning to manage difficult emotions without immediately needing to escape them. It's rebuilding trust in yourself, strengthening your relationships, and beginning to feel hopeful about your future again.

You don't have to hit rock bottom or have everything figured out to start making changes.

I offer online therapy for adults throughout Oregon, providing a supportive, nonjudgmental space where we can work together to understand your experiences, build healthier coping strategies, and move toward a life that feels more meaningful and fulfilling.

You don't have to know exactly what recovery, healing, or a healthier life looks like for you yet.

We can figure that out together.

Your past doesn't have to determine what's possible for your future.
